5 RULES I’M TAKING WITH ME INTO NEXT YEAR

A hard truth hit me over my head this Fall ⬇️
💯YOU CANNOT ELEVATE YOUR LIFE IF YOU DON’T ELEVATE YOUR ROUTINES.
This year has been a rougher one for me than usual.
Rough in my business and rough on my health.
I’ve felt it in big ways as I'm transitioning into post-menopause. And many of my patients say they’ve felt it for themselves too.
Health strategies that once worked for me, suddenly haven't been as effective.
Projects that used to light me up, have started feeling much harder than they used to.
I kept waiting to feel excited about what I've been doing and instead have often felt overwhelmed and deflated. Like life is throwing me curve balls and laughing!
Normally, I don’t let this kind of ennui stick around for all that long. But, 2025 did a number on me.
You might think I’d love to just forget all the challenges of 2025 and just move on.
But, here’s my TRUTH:
I REFUSE TO LET 2025 BECOME A YEAR I FORGET!
I’ve spent a lot of time evaluating everything that occurred in 2025 for myself which deepened my understanding of myself. I LEARNED from what I did in 2025 that created the overwhelm. And what I’ve gathered from difficulty now can help elevate my experience next year.
From what I learned, I made a decision.
🎉THIS NEXT YEAR WILL BE MY YEAR FOR MOMENTUM!
I decided to no longer focus on what didn’t go as planned this past year, and instead, focus on what I CAN start elevating with my routines that make up my life!
Of course, much of that stuff will seem obvious to you and will be part of my elevated choices-
Move my body every morning so I build muscle to compensate for the natural muscle loss of menopause
Drink less alcohol (I don’t drink much, but can drink less…)
Plan out my social media content and batch prep, like I do with my meals…
This new and improved vision of myself for 2026 will require more than just some positive intentions though.
It requires a PLAN.
And that PLAN needs to be composed of elevated routines based on what hasn't worked so far.
As I’m building out the beginnings of my 2026 plan today, I noticed a very important piece of this interesting puzzle that you might relate to.
➡️Women who experience more ease as they age are NOT doing more!
➡️They are also NOT forcing outcomes or willy nilly jumping from protocol to protocol or new idea to new idea.
THE RULES FOR LIVING ON PURPOSE of truly successful women are:
Living by their own personal TRUTHS, not society’s domestication of them.
Moving with intention every day, not avoiding this essential ingredient to aging greatly.
Protecting their energy like it’s the most essential currency available (well, because, girlfriend, it is!)
Elevating their sense of self importance so that everything around them elevates!
So, as I sit here contemplating my own elevation for 2026, let me share how I’m preparing to live the next year.
MY 5 RULES FOR LIVING IN 2026
I believe these might spark a fire under your own booty to think outside the outdated box you’ve likely also had yourself in for 2025…
1. MASTER DETACHMENT
You cannot trust every thought that passes through your mind. It is essential to learn how to shake out the capital “T” Truths from all the noise of other peoples’ beliefs and expectations, and live by those alone.
I LOVE the book by Miguel Ruiz Jr, “The 5 Levels of Attachment”. He taught me to evaluate all of my beliefs and decide which ones I will allow to remain at any level of attachment solely because I choose to, not because I was taught or expected to. This is one of my biggest goals for the next year - master detachment from outdated rules (or BRULES, “bullshit rules”, as author Vishen Lakhiani says).
2. BELIEVE WHAT’S INSIDE
Believe your intuitive nudges the first time. Stop handing over your personal power to opinions, fear, shame and all the other noise around you.
And if you are feeling fear, shame or worse, these are NOT TRUTHS. They are learned from opinions of others. Dig deeper to hear your true inner voice - she’s the one who needs to run this show!
3. DEFEND FENCES
Build your personal fences - your boundaries - that actually protect your time and energy so you can HAVE time and energy to live the life you truly want.
When these fences are crossed by others, defend them with practiced responses that are in alignment with who you want to be, and then rebuild them to be stronger.
You can have gates built into the fences that you can CHOOSE to open for the chosen few, IF you desire to on occasion. But don’t make that a habit. Have good locks on them only you have the key for.
4. BE IN INTEGRITY
Every promise you make and keep builds trust with your future self. This is how you get where you want to go.
Do what you say you will do - always.
This requires being VERY clear about what you do and don’t want anymore in your life and ensuring your fences are well defended from expected and unexpected thieves of your time and energy. Getting this figured out makes it easy to nearly always be in integrity.
And when you do slip occasionally, NO SHAME, darlin! Pivot and keep practicing your rules so that the next time you’re challenged it’s easier to be true to yourself.
5. LIVE IN BLISS
You don’t need happiness to achieve your dreams, but it sure makes life more enjoyable on the journey to those dreams AND makes them more likely to be realized.
Be happy so you can more easily do things you really want to do. Don’t wait to be happy to do things - you’ll be waiting a long time…
This one is my most important rule I want to protect in 2026. When I bring some fun to any choice I make daily, I know the process will be easier for me and be more likely to get done well. I know this because when I’m in a funk, more funk follows and life feels hard. I bet the same applies to you too.
So, when you find you’re overthinking a perceived problem or have to deal with something outside of your control, be grateful you’re recognizing this opportunity for growth, and choose to find some joy in the process so it is handled more gracefully. The reduction of stress chemistry from this one thing can add years to your life.
💙Now, my lovely, choose ONE RULE and start practicing it today!
I’d love for you to leave a comment below about which one of these you are going to make your own or to have you share a new rule with me that means something grand to you!
Ultimately, I hope these 5 RULES inspire you to evaluate the past year of your life and decide how to elevate your next year’s experience. By reviewing what got you here today, you can more easily figure out what will get you where you really want to be.
Let's collapse the timeline with rules that truly elevate us! Get your new routines in order, my friend.
With this elevation, we will get to age with real joy and purpose.
Hugs,
Dr. Krista
